  11. Although I met Max just a few years ago via our mutual interest in car restorations, particularly Fords, I found him to be a most genuine, likeable and very honest man. His knowledge of things motoring and motorsport was most impressive. I always enjoyed our chats and emails on the occasions we were in contact. A great guy and a pleasure knowing him. My condolences to all Max’s family. RIP Max

  12. Max was a natural leader and over many years contributed greatly to the NSW Dairy Farmers Association, extensively to Bega Coop and significantly to Dairy Australia. Well done Max…a life well dedicated to the community. I was honoured to be a friend and associate and I am truly saddened by your sudden loss.

  13. Very sorry to hear the sad passing of Max. He had very long history in the dairy industry which was characterised by significant achievements, not only as a dairy farmer, but successfully representing dairy farmers at an industry level as a Director of NSW Dairyfarmers Association and a Director of Australian Dairy Farmers. He also was a significant force in the development of Dairy Australia as the industry research and development organisation. Max also had a long and successful involvement in Bega Cooperative which is one of the few major AustraIian dairy companies of the last century still in existence. I had the pleasure of knowing Max when we both worked at the ABC in the late 1970’s as well as his and my careers in the Dairy industry for more than 20 years of working together. He will be sadly missed. John McQueen

  16. Dear Friends . On this sad day my memory takes me back to when I met Max in 2002 . We connected on the spot and since then we had to either see each other regularly or talk long hours on the phone . His friendship was unique and in fact aspiring as he cared for the relationship . He helped on many matters and was concerned to keep our friendship alive giving good advice at every occasion . I very much loved Max and I can say that I lost a pillar of my family whom I can never replace . I pray for Max’s soul and hope he in Heaven looking over us . My deepest condolences to Sue . Kirsty and Link.

  18. We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Max. We met Max at a small family reunion at Bombala in 2017. My husband enjoyed sharing car stories with Max.

My aunts have shared many fond stories of family holidays to the Tooraloo farm with Kennith, Max and Tony. The six cousins enjoyed playing games in the wool shed, trout fishing and playing in the river.

We will be thinking of you today and sending lots of love to you all.

  19. Great Man and great life, Max left a very positive legacy and was respected by all who knew him, RIP Max.

  20. Very Sad to hear of Max’s sudden passing-I thought he would go on forever.

Max lived a life that made a difference. It was a privilege serving on the Bega Board with Max where his contribution and passion for Bega and its people over so many years is the stuff of legends. Outside of the Boardroom he was fantastic company who recounted the best of stories and was a great keeper of history-it seems inconceivable that we will not ever hear his dulcit tones.
I cant imagine how Sue and the family is feeling and my love and thoughts are with you at this incredibly sad time.
