To the Stafford Family
I am very saddened to hear of the passing of your mother Doreen. I have fond memories going to work with my dad Jack, I used to follow Ron around and sometimes we would walk across the paddock and have lunch with Doreen, I enjoyed it very much. Your mother was very nice and treated me as family.
The Stafford name is an icon. Not only for making bricks but the employment of workers in the late forties after world war II and into the fifties. Between Stafford and Sons and AC Thatcher and Sons over half of the great football sides from the late forties into the fifties were employed by the two companies. Stafford and Sons was also a great help to the economics of the local community of Tathra.
I was glad to visit Doreen with Trish and my daughter Maree about 2.5 years ago, we had a nice chat in her sun drenched porch.
Your family must be very proud of the Stafford name which pioneered brick making in the early thirties at the now named Kalaru.
Doreen my early friend, Rest In Peace.
