I still can’t believe he’s gone.
So sorry for your loss, & many apologies I couldn’t be there for the service.
I’m thinking of you all. 🙏
I learned so much about Bobby at his service today – more than I learned while sharing a beer with him at the Candelo pub, because it was never about him; Bobby always put others first: his beloved family, his mates, Collingwood, and anyone who needed a helping or steadying hand. His credo was ‘do the right thing’, and that came through in all the tributes today. The quintessential Aussie with a larrikin streak, he had a ready laugh and a friendly greeting at the bar (usually out of one corner of his mouth, because the other held a trademark ciggie). Decent, generous, and a loyal and steadfast mate, he leaves an unfillable gap in the Pelicans’ corner. The boys, whom we have watched grow into fine young men, did their dad proud today. To them, to Suzie, and all Bobby’s family and in-laws – we grieve with you, and we are grateful for Bobby having touched our lives as well.
