Willem (Bill) GORISSEN

We remember Bill as a hardworking, loveable Dutchman who immigrated from the Netherlands in 1967 to work on the Snowy Mountains Scheme as a Bricklayer/Stonemason/Concretor.

Built many a house; drunk many a beer with his mates; and met the love of his life, Valda Manning from Tumut, on a blind date in Talbingo, NSW in 1971.

Willem was the fifth of nine children. Born in Neer, Netherlands to parents Wilhelmus Gorissen and Christina Glied. Much loved by his family: siblings Truus (Neth), Jan (dec’d), Theo (dec’d), Dela (dec’d), Chris (dec’d), Till (Neth), Anne (NZ) and Lies (Neth).

Beloved husband of Valda for 52 years, will be sadly missed and forever loved also by his daughters and son-in-laws – Marika & Simon, Nardia & Brian and Sarsha & Heinz.

Passed away peacefully at home in Kiama, NSW. Private funeral service at H Parsons, Kiama.
