Valerie Joyce Kotlash (Née James) 12/8/37~25/2/25

Val died quicker than she thought she might. She looked around the room at loving family and dear friends and slipped quietly away.

Bereaved widow of Ern Kotlash, mother of Jill (taken tragically at 18 years old) and John, now the last Kotlash standing.

Mother-in-law to Steve Mills and Fiona Mills (née Bott) and a figure of strength to Vicky Smith, John’s partner.

Val enjoyed the recent company of Fiona and Steve’s kids at her house, Brooke, Ben, and Ebony and their many raucous children.

Sister-in-law to Shirley Russo and Bev James, good friend of Vicky’s mum, Bev Smith. It’s the women that hang on.

She will be missed but had a gifted life and a very acceptable death.

The Funeral Service will be held at Parsons Events, Princes Highway, Wandandian on Saturday 8th March, International Women’s Day. Service commences at 11 am. There will be a wake following the service at Val’s home.

Wear bright colours Hawaiian shirts and rainbow socks if you have them. She was all about inclusion.

Flowers in a family with nasal issues are not necessary, instead give a donation to the Cancer Council.
