We are so sorry to hear about this very sad and unexpected loss with the passing of Robert. He was always kind and generous and I feel privileged to have known him. I am grateful that I saw him only a few weeks ago when he helped Zac move in- once again showing what a great Pop he was. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

    Carmel, Allan & Tamarisa Frith.

  11. To Karen and family. Sincerest condolences to you all. Robert, was, with his VERY CHEEKY sense of humour, agreeable, kind, always helpful in giving assistance to his LOCAL Wonboyn Neighbours. I know this thru. Colin & Liz Johnston. (Deceased). Never a problem to keep “Track” workable. Shift Trees, etc. etc. NEVER a problem to HELP, talk, console, feed etc. Nick Steel whenever he turned up on Roberts’ and your doorstep. So hospitable to everyone. Last visit, due to a medical issue, Robert (and you) got my car from Wonnie to Merrimbula with Nick, etc. so my daughter could eventually drive both home to Melbourne. I was in Bega Hospital. I will never forget that time. So sorry Karen for your loss of Robert. You two were always team Players. … Nick ALWAYS REMEMBERS ROBERT (YOU). I’ll always remember and be thankful to Robert & you. Marg Cowell, Retired Carer for Nick Steel. Thankyou. Vale Robert Smith

Our loving thoughts to Karen and family

  16. Having relocated to Narooma in the early 80’s I had the privilege of working as Manager for this fine man when he established his Robert Smith Furnishers enterprise in Narooma. He was an inspiration with his gift for laconic humour, foresight, empathy, and compassion. He was a master strategist when it came to his business ventures, a truly rare mix these days. Everybody loved Robert, we will all miss him. We send our sincere condolences to his family.

  17. Robert was a true gentleman. Generous to a fault. We have so many wonderful memories of times spent together. My late husband, Michael, and Robert were great pals. I know they are now having a beer together watching down on us. Robert was much loved by all who knew him. To Karen and Robert’s family I send my heartfelt sympathy. Robert will be missed and the hole he has left in your hearts is huge. Remember you are so lucky to have wonderful memories of a fantastic husband, father and grandfather to share as time goes by.

My thoughts are with Karen, Bec, Jason and families today, and forever, Robert will leave a big hole in your family, his smile will live on in our memories and that cheeky laugh.
