To Ray
My friend thankyou for those happy times where you would light up the room with your laughter & joy while encouraging myself & others along the music path that so many of us travelled with you.
You will remain forever in our thoughts.
Ray has been in our lives for more than 40 years, as a valued and much-loved friend and an inspiring musician. There was always lots of humour and laughter around Ray and plenty of good-natured teasing in both directions. We will miss him so much. xx
You helped & supported me in my musical journey so many years ago plus being a wonderful, caring & valued , much loved friend-you will be missed & never forgotten. I’m forever grateful that you had a long & very happy life, surrounded by loved ones- exactly what you deserved ❤️❤️❤️

Ray, Was my total mentor, From the moment I went to Mt Kembla Hall. One Acoustic night. In 1996. I was alone and Ray was the convener of the night. I never had heard Bluegrass. But I went home singing “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” That bright sparkling, Human has been the most humble, talented. person I could ever imagine. To Corry, sympathies. Only think of the Good times you shared. To Ray, Rest knowing are loved by many people.
Thank You. Pete and Di Channon. Warilla
Oh Ray, you were such a lovely man. A wonderful musician, a caring, kind and encouraging person. Quick to laugh, and as solid as a rock, both as a person and a musician. Deepest sympathy to your family and friends. You will be so missed. Rest well Papa Smurf.
Your warmth and kindness left a deep impression and we’ll always, always, always think of you with a smile. Farewell, for now, Ray.
Rest in peace Ray ,you were a true gentleman .
Beautiful man!,.. such a supporter as I grew up singing with you in the sccma band,.. I was 17 when I met you and you never ceased to greet me with your kind encouraging words and that mischievous smile every time our paths crossed! I would have given up singing long ago if it wasn’t for the long term nurturing support from you and others when I was so young,.. I remember my first recordings done at your home fondly, and always admired your musicianship and willingness to share your knowledge, a true gentleman,.. Will miss seeing you around the bluegrass meets,.. it’s been a pleasure to share our musical journeys with you,.. Karen, Martin & William x
