Mark Henry Jones

Mark Henry Jones

Of Hurlstone Park

Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday 6 February 2024, after living with Motor Neuron Disease. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his daughter Alex, sister Linda, cousin Emily, and the many friends both near and far, who he touched with his quirky character, love for art, literature, geopolitics, history, culture, food, music and life itself.

Family and friends are invited to remember Mark and celebrate his life as a public school teacher, world traveler, hippie, awesome skier, country-bloke and dedicated Dad at the Lotus Pavilion at Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium on Thursday 15th February at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome in Mark’s honour, to causes he felt strongly about during his life:

Tributes

  1. Fly high Mark
    Remembered by Rhonda

  2. Thank you for your greatly appreciated support of my artwork through recent years Mark. They were much appreciated,as well as your presence at opening events. I know you will now rest peacefully, free of the scourge of the debilitating effects of motor neurone disease.
    Farewell my friend.

  3. Dear Mark, I will miss you comrade…komrade as you funnily spelled the word. I will miss the movie nights at the KKC where we met, the art gallery, the walks and talks, our conversations…your stories. I feel awful I missed your message while I was overseas and I just learned about your illness. I wish I saw that message so you knew I cared and would have called and visited you as you kindly invited me. I will remember you and hope you’ve found your place where there is no suffering, no sadness but peace and you are surrounded by beautiful things which one could always see in your pictures and photos…and it shone through your soul which now is on another journey. Fly high Komrade! Z 💚
