Dear Sri Ranjani/Mukunthan,
It was a shocking news and hard to believe such a fit person is gone. We knew your family since you moved to Wollongong from Melbourne in 1999. We knew him as a quiet person but intelligent when he starts talking. He has been the first friend of Mukunthan. You both would miss him a lot.
We pray God to give peace for his soul and to give you strength to accept the truth and look forward. As friends, you can count on us at times of need.
Sad to hear the untimely death of Dr Jeyathakimar

I was heart-broken to hear such sad and shocking news. I was very fortunately to be trained by Kankesu during my Masters and PhD studies at UOW. I am deeply grateful for being Kankesu’s student. I have learnt so much from him intellectually, but most of all, his kindness. During my 6 years at UOW, Kankesu ‘looked after’ me very well.

No word can express my shock and sadness but my tears and prayers for you in heaven, my most respectable mentor and friend. Never thought it could have become the forever last time to see you in person when I left Wollongong and UoW 5 years ago. Under your gentle and quiet character, you are so generous and kind for others. I still remember how you and your family organised a big Christmas party for many international students including me in your lovely home in Bulli, and it was also the first time we met your beautiful wife and son. You were so helpful for my PhD whenever I had a doubt and hesitation, but never wanted to be mentioned formally in my acknowledgement… So many good memories about you and your unconditional support.
Dear Ranji and Muhunthan,
My deepest condolence for your big loss! Jay was and is such a respectable man, naturally and intellectually. He and his kindness will NEVER be forgotten. May his soul rest in peace.

Kankesu was a wonderful person. No grief is greater than the sudden departure of such a kind man as him. May his soul rest in peace.
With great sorrow, I received the news of the untimely passing of my esteemed academic colleague, Kankesu. He was a remarkable individual, possessing a rare combination of intelligence, kindness, and courteousness. During his time at UOW, Kankesu left an indelible mark on his discipline – Economics – through his invaluable contributions. However, what truly stood out for me was his genuine respect for all individuals, regardless of their status, race, or gender. Kankesu was a humble and down-to-earth individual, always delivering his services to the university community with utmost sincerity and grace. I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside Kankesu and to have known him as a friend. He was one of the nicest people I have ever encountered, and his loss will undoubtedly be felt by many.
Menik and I share your grief and offer our deepest sympathies to Ranji and Muhunthan during this difficult time. I extend my sincere condolences to all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all touched by his kind and generous spirit!

Kankesu was a wonderful colleague! He was my office neighbor on Level 2, Faculty of Business and Law, University of Wollongong. I remember once mentioning to Kankesu during a corridor chat that I have a terrible headache, and then I returned to my office.
After some time Kankesu knocked on my office door and gave me some Panadol which he got from IGA. It was so lovely of him! He has always been so nice and lovely in all the interactions I have had with him.
