Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Tuesday 29th September 2026. Beloved husband of Conçeicão. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of João and Dagmar, Norbert and Paula, Inalita and Emanuel. Cherished avô of his 9 grandchildren. João will be sadly missed by his loving family and many dear friends here, in Madeira and around the world.

Rosary will be recited at Rankins Funeral Home 270 Cowper Street Warrawong on Tuesday 6th October 2026 at 4pm.
Requiem Mass for the repose of João’s soul will be celebrated at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1 Bruce Road Warrawong on Wednesday 7th October 2026 at 11am. Following the Mass his funeral will proceed to Wollongong Lawn Cemetery, Wyllie Road Kembla Grange.
