Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Sunday 25th May 2025. Beloved wife of the late Jimmy. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Charles and Jo, Mark and Michelle, Cindy and Mark, Jamey and Lisa. Adored Nanna of Alana, Jacob, Chloe, Liam, Brodie, Jayden, Harry, Isaac, Amber, Thomas and great grandmother of Delilah, Louis and 3 on the way. Loved sister of Christina and Alex. Joan will be sadly missed by her loving family and many dear friends here and in Canberra.

Requiem Mass for the repose of Joan’s soul will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 48 Park Road Bulli on Thursday 29th May 2025 at 12pm. Joan’s burial will be held at Woden Cemetery, Justinian Street, ACT Phillip on Friday 30th May 2025 at 12pm. All relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Family request you wear bright colourful florals as Joan loved these.

Dearest Cindy, Mark, Thomas & All the Devine family,
I’m thinking of you all at this very sad time of losing your dear Mum, MIL & Nanna … dear Joan 💕 I know you will miss her so much but I’m sure you will be comforted by your special memories of Joan & the long wonderful life she lived. Joan had such a gentle presence & was kind to all, she will be sadly missed by so many. Sorry I can’t make it to Joan’s funeral but I will be thinking of you all on Friday & Saturday as you say goodbye to her. Love to you all, Cathy Affleck xxx
Joan was always a warm presence, ever near when we visited—welcoming, caring, and full of love for everyone she met. Her kindness touched all who knew her, and her genuine joy in sharing meals and moments with friends made every gathering special. She had a gift for making people feel at home, and her gentle spirit will always be remembered with deep affection. Thinking of her family as you all feel the loss of her presence but treasure the lifetime of memories that you made during her journey through life. Love to you all. X
