Sub Lieutenant (as he then was) Chris Gunn served in the Royal Navy submarine ODIN under my command during her deployment to Australia in 1973/74. I’m sorry to say I did not keep in touch after my return to the UK, but I remember him well as a keen and efficient young officer with, in my opinion, an excellent future ahead of him.
I regret I shall be unable to attend the funeral, but send my condolences to his wife and family.
Wendy and I spent many happy and fun days with Chris and family when we were both posted to DSMP in Canberra. We are sorry to hear of his passing across the bar.
