A Tribute to My Beautiful Mumma/Nonna 🕊️
Throughout our lives, we are fortunate to meet people who leave a lasting impression on our hearts. Some relationships develop beyond the roles we hold, becoming something truly meaningful and special.
For me, Celestina was one of those remarkable people.
Affectionately known to me as Nonna, she was a woman of strength, warmth, determination and character. She possessed a beautiful spirit, a wonderful sense of humour and a personality that could brighten even the most challenging days.
During the time I had the privilege of caring for her, our relationship grew into something far greater than that of a care worker and resident. It became a bond built on mutual trust, understanding, respect and genuine affection.
Nonna had a remarkable way of showing love through the simplest gestures. Whether it was a smile, a moment of laughter, a cheeky exchange or an unexpected act of kindness, she had a way of making those around her feel valued.
I will always treasure the memories we created together, particularly the moments that reflected her beautiful personality and the special connection we shared.
One memory I will carry with me forever is hearing her say, “I love you.”
Those three simple words meant more than she could ever have imagined. They were a reflection of the trust, comfort and affection we had developed over our time together.
Working in aged care is more than providing physical assistance. It is about preserving dignity, offering compassion, building meaningful relationships and recognising the extraordinary lives behind every person we care for.
Nonna reminded me of the importance of those values and the profound difference that genuine kindness and human connection can make.
Although her passing brings great sadness, I remain deeply grateful for the privilege of having known her, cared for her and shared a small part of her life’s journey.
Her memory will remain with me, not only as someone I cared for professionally, but as someone who touched my life personally. Nonna, thank you for your trust, your kindness, your humour and the affection you shared so freely.
It was an honour to care for you, a privilege to know you and a blessing to be loved by you.
May you now rest peacefully, surrounded by the love you so generously gave throughout your life.
Buonanotte, mia bella Nonna.
Forever remembered. Forever cherished. Never forgotten. 🕊️❤️
Rip Mumma,
Your forever in my heart will miss your humour more than you will.ever realise. Rest Easy.
Much love to the The Paiano Family
