Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Saturday 9th May 2026. Beloved wife of the late Romeo Sgangarella. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Caterina, Angelo and Zina, Gerard, Phillip and Donna. Much loved Nonna of David and Rocco. Carmela will be sadly missed by her loving family and many dear friends here and overseas.

Requiem Mass for the repose of Carmela’s soul will be celebrated at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral, Harbour Street Wollongong on Thursday 21st May 2026 at 11am. Following the service her funeral will proceed to Lakeside Memorial Park, Kanahooka Road Kanahooka.
