Anthony was a fellow dialysis patient at the Wollongong Hospital Renal Unit. He was popular with all the nursing staff and the other patients as well. A quietly spoken man with a lot of interests that he spoke of often. In the earlier days he was known for his one line jokes that had some of the younger nurses a bit confused at times.
To the forefront was his passion for all categories of music, especially the heavier rock variety. He would watch the artists and bands on videos played back on his pad with headphones to listen. Anthony would drop off to sleep often with his music still playing and we would need to wake him up when the tea lady arrived. He loved his dog who ate quite a few of the biscuits donated by other patients. He and I were both lovers of Ford motor cars which we often reminisced about.
Anthony never complained, however we did notice the more difficult times he was going through over the past months. We will miss his sense of humour and his camaraderie.
Anthony was a good guy with a wicked sense of humour. He turned up at diceys for darts one night with our shirt on.( Hawaii 501). I always had a good chat with Anthony even though we were the opposition. Sorry I never played darts with you even though you asked me plenty of times. Farewell.
