The loss of a special lady.
My thoughts are with you and all your family.
Valda and I started school on the same day at age 5. She was a beautiful and brilliant person and student. From the very beginning it was obvious that she would grow and develop into an outstanding person. When in 6th Class we were joint school captains at Heathcote Primary School and later we continued our education at Heathcote High. News of her passing was a great shock to me and I wish to extend my sincere condolences to those close to her RIP Valda, you will be sorely missed by your family and friends.
I shared a friendship with Val starting at Stanwell Tops in 1974. We shared so much – tragedies & happy times, annual ski holidays with our sons & we worked together in the Pottery days. She was a shrewd business woman , savvy & smart., a wonderful mum & compassionate & thoughtful friend. She was always so stylish & had a flair for decorating. Above all she & Phil shared a very special love & were absolute soulmates. We shared many views covering politics & religion & I’ll miss those conversations & her greatly. She will not be forgotten ❤️
As a childhood friend of Phill’s two youngest brothers I was on the periphery of the Davis family and would see Phill, Val and their exotically named boys (by my standards) at various functions. Val stood out with her incredibly long hair and how obvious the five of them were a tight unit.
By the mid 90s my young family and the Davis’ were annual ski friends spending a week each August in Perisher Valley as members of the same lodge. We got to know and love the entire family more each year. Jarrod eventually came to work in my company and we would all look forward to our week in the snow. Val’s incredible love for her family was on display as we watched the boys find partners and eventually expand our ski tribe with Val and Phill’s adored grandchildren.
Some years we would only see Val and Phill for that one week, and other years there would be other reasons to see them. It didn’t matter though because the conversations would pick right up where they had been left and we would be back talking politics, business, family and most importantly always having a laugh.
Val was a talented entrepreneur, wife to Phill, an obviously great mum, mother-in-law, nanna and friend. We are already missing you Val, but you have left quite a legacy with your amazing family and no shortage of great memories.
All our love to Phill, Jarrod, Rhett, Joel, Lee, Kate, Emma, Logan, Sophie, Will, Izzy, Jessi and Fletcher. You all won life’s lottery having had Val in your life.
Our hearts are broken to hear of the loss of our Stanwell Tops old neighbour & dear friend Val. She was always such a bright, bubbly, kind person who was loved & will be missed by so many. Our deepest sympathy to Phil & family.
I have fond memories of Val going back to our high school days together and more recently at school reunions and lunchtime get-togethers. She had such a vibrant personality and was always a kind, thoughtful person. What stood out above all was the love she had for her family and I know she will be dearly missed by them and all who knew her. Sending sincere condolences.
Tomorrow we say farewell to our most treasured friend and one of this world’s most admirable persons that we have ever known.
Val was always such a giving person and you always knew that she would be there for you at any time .
We will miss her beautiful, happy vibrant smile and I personally will also greatly miss our long long chats about anything and everything.
Sending our condolences to Phill (The love of Val’s life ) and to all of her children and grandchildren who she absolutely adored.
Rest in Peace
