  5. I remember the first time I met Greg, he was setting up the computers in the Warrigal APR Hostel must have been early 2000’s. He was patiently trying to log me in for the first time it was very daunting and he was a bit intimidating to say the least. These tactics didn’t last long, seeing the softer side of Greg and how much he cared, for his family , for his team and for life! Greg has left an impact on my life and the life of all who knew him. My deepest and heart felt condolences to Jennelle and his family for their loss. Julie

  6. So sorry for your loss, he will be missed. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Take care. Pauline.

  7. My condolences for your loss however, he will always be with you in your heart.

  8. Dearest Jennelle

Our world has been put completely out of balance by the desperately sad news about Greg. Parts of our hearts live with you in Australia. There was instant rapport on meeting you two at 10to 12 in Folkestone, when we were on our way to France and you were nearing the end of your trip to UK for that year. Of course, Jennelle, the initial topic of conversation centred around Cervélo bikes and cycling! We did hear about some of the places you had visited but there wasn’t enough time to cover it all. We have since followed each other’s FB posts and Strava activities with avid interest.

It was a real joy to meet up with Greg and his ride buddies in Bourg d’Oisans and join them for some rides and some beers. It was a privilege to know Greg and to spend time with him. The happiness, warmth and joy in his welcome showed us how thoughtful, kind and caring he was. His love of family and friends was so generously extended to us as we became temporary members of the group. Our thanks also go to Greg Burgess, Brian McKinnon and Peter Roope for their friendship.

We are sending our love and prayers to you Jennelle, your family and all who knew Greg. We miss him.

  9. It was such a shock to hear of Greg’s passing at such a young age. Greg worked with us at Lysaght Hospital & Medical Club back in his 20’s, he studied hard and achieved so much. He loved his family and we maintained contact over all these years and enjoyed stories of his cycling and travels. Our deepest sympathies to Janelle, Sean & Heather. He will be missed greatly. Your old friends John, Raelene, Gayle, Lynne and Michael. RIP

  10. Sending our deepest sympathy to all of Greg’s family. Adding our names to Michael’s message above. We also worked with Greg, he was greatly admired by us all. Lois, Kim and Carole

  11. Our fondest memories of Greg are of his great smile and good company, particularly during our time together in Italy in 2017. We will miss him. With heartfelt sympathy to his family, Janet and Don

  12. My heartfelt condolences Jennelle. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  13. I can remember when he first started at Warrigal a very long time ago. I don’t think he was into bike riding then, but some time down the track he started a fitness campaign and he never looked back. I remember asking him what was his secret as he looked fantastic and really fit. He told me he had taken up bike riding and loved it. I enjoyed talking to him about his biking and his European trips with Jennelle. Such wonderful memories to cherish. Hold strong to those memories Jennelle. They will get you through the tuff times ahead.
Greg was a really smart man and a whiz when it came to computers and much too young to leave this world. He will be sadly missed. My heartfelt sympathy goes to Jennelle and her family on their loss.
    Regards
    Fiona Murray from Warrigal.

  22. Greg and I were friends through High School (my husband too), and funnily enough my son Mitchell and Heather became friends at High School too.
It was almost like synchronicity…I would run into Greg from time to time and we’d talk about past times and where we were in life now.
I was devastated to hear of his passing. I’m so pleased I joined online today to share in the memories that he and his beloved family had made together.
His smile never changed….it just got brighter.
Please accept our sincerest wishes to support you all at this sad time.
