Passed away peacefully on Saturday, 11th October 2025. Beloved husband of Rebecca. Dearly loved father of Tony, Susie, Justin, Rachel and father-in-law to John. Loving Papa of his grandchildren Aaron, Carl, Helena, Hayden, Callan, Eligh, Montez, Jacob, Shekinah, Zara and great grandchild Nirvana. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Mary & John Parker. Dick will be sadly missed by his loving family and many dear friends.

Dick was my cousin, but I didn’t really get to know him until I was in my early teens.
Dick had had his kidney removed, and after the operation he lived with us for many weeks, so that my mother, May McLeod, could nurse him back to good health.
During that time, I became very fond of Dick. Despite being quite ill, he carried himself like a gentleman, and his sense of humour often made me laugh.
But, best of all, he was genuinely interested in me, and in what I thought, and in how I was doing, no matter how he himself was feeling. He made me feel like I mattered.
So I was very proud when, many years later, after a life of selfless care for others, Dick was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia.
I’ve always enjoyed catching up with Dick over the years, and I have fond memories of him, my friend and dearest cousin.
