Marie Therese Williams

Marie was an amazing person who was able to overcome difficulties with love, humor, and patience. She worked hard and she laughed easily. We met after I married her son Kevin. Despite a long list of differences, Marie found no problem in adding me to the awesome tumble of characters she loved. We loved her, too.
When Kevin and I had our first child, Marie came to soothe my anxieties. Among the many lessons that had me laughing was how to properly hang laundry. Having grown up with a dryer, my efforts were haphazard, faced with long clothes lines and little effort. Marie had me giggling with her aid and stories while we rehung the “hundreds and thousands” (Americans say “sprinkles”) of baby clothes. She was wise, a loving elder, who enriched my life. Jewish custom is to keep a loved one’s spirit alive by talking about their lives. Marie is now legendary, but she and her kindness, lively humor which carried a point, and loving generosity will be remembered. As always, I send my love. Susan Elizabeth Casselman Williams
