Tributes

  1. I got to know Jim the old bloke across the street as the caring and loving husband of Daphne I often thought what a lovely man.
The fishing outings we went on were special and the conversations we had I’ll remember every time I fish in the secret garfish spot.
I told Jim recently I wished I’d met 30yrs ago.
    We will miss you .
Charlie & Penny Daly from across the street.

  2. Jim,
This world will not be the same without you – and our world has been better for knowing you 😊.
You are the smartest, wittiest, kindest and fastest 92 YO we have ever met 😄. You are absolutely hilarious and we are so grateful for your friendship.
Thank you for the wonderful memories and laughs, and thank you for sharing your humourous stories. Your books are riveting and your conversations are interesting, thoroughly enjoyable and always fun.
We loved getting to know you and your beloved Daphne. Such a beautiful love story ❤️
You will always be my favourite and best A-grade tennis partner, Jim. 🥰 We will miss you dearly.
    Karen and Richard

  3. Jim was a wonderful neighbour for the last twenty years. He built friendships with everyone around him and was always welcoming and calm towards others. Jim always had a smile and a wave for our whole family everyday. Jim was a grateful and generous man always sharing what he had and thankful for any little kindness towards his side of the fence . Watching Jim care for Daphne over the last few years was a testament to his love, commitment and generous spirit. Streamside st is deeply miss ing Jim .

  4. A good bloke. What more can you say?
Jim always had a practical outlook that went beyond the hype that many others get swept up in. He was a very clever man who often helped me when I wanted a second opinion on something.
    He will be sorely missed.
