Passed away peacefully on Monday, 21st of  February 2022.  Beloved wife of the late Ernest.  Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Sydney and Nali.  Cherished Nana of Jasmine and Kathryn.  Shirley will be sadly missed by her loving family and many dear friends.

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shirley’s funeral service to be held at H.Parsons Funeral Home,  34 Belmore Street Wollongong on Tuesday, 1st of  March 2022 at 12pm.

  2. So sad to lose such a kind and generous lady whose company I enjoyed when I returned to Wollongong from Queensland to visit my mum, Shirley Gwen Irwin.

  3. A beautiful and a truly genuine lady. My children loved to visit for the regular tea parties she would host for us, insisting that they eat as many clinkers as it took until they found a green one – a “rule” that has continued in our house for the last 18 years.

    Your warmth and the excitement in joining in with our family gatherings or our meet up prior to Christmas, spoiling the kids with lollies and hugs, is a memory we will continue to hold dear.

    I miss your funny sense of humour and lots of laughing, Meeting you in Chinatown outside the Capital Theatre and off we’d wander. We spent many happy times together RIP XXXOOO

  5. Having known Shirley for many years we had many trips to Sydney Shirley introduced me to Chinatown Yum cha . Ferry on the harbour on Australia Day. Chinese New Year in Sydney I have many wonderful memories of our times together Shirley was a delightful lovely friend leaving behind many beautiful memories In Gods Care

  7. Dear Shirley will always be remembered especially for her enthusiasm, cheerfulness, generosity and her baked dinners. My friends and I were fortunate to have her company whilst travelling to Vietnam, Cambodia, Egypt, Jordon , and River Cruise in Europe. Loads of fun.
