Dearest Cathy,
Peter and I are deeply saddened to hear that Dave has died. I often passed him on his morning walks on my way through Thirroul and was inspired by his stamina and determination to maintain health and independence in his latter years. He was an amazing man who always put others first even when this made him a target of educational administrators, in particular, TAFE managers. I have received many messages from TCs that Dave worked with at TAFE. I believe that some will be there on Wednesday to pay their respects but others have asked me to convey to you their deepest sympathies. This includes, Barry Toole, Gay Radburn, Sue O’Connell, Peter Cippolone, Julie Waddington, Des Lean-Fore, Chris Faber-Morris, Mandy Caldwell-Smith, Nicki Goozee, Berinda Karp, Michelle Whenman, Wendy Hoschke.
My condolences to Dave’s wife and family.
He is supported of Deaf community and Teacher
To Cathy and all of David’s family
My deepest condolences. Thank you for the livestream.
The service was perfect – a true reflection of the man I knew for a very long time.
I wanted to add that David taught me that silence was normal and good. When I stayed overnight I realised that as a child silence would have been just how life was. It was something that has stayed with me. And I thank him for that lesson.
We are all better for having known him.
