Tributes

  1. To Craig, Kerry and families we send you our condolences on the passing of “Sandy” a long time friend. His advice on caravanning, holiday spots etc. will be sadly missed. He and Jan hold a special spot in our hearts.
We are disappointed that we couldn’t attend today because of health reasons but hold solace in the fact we travelled up to see Sandy while still in the Rehab Centre at Berry a couple of weeks ago.
Peter and Jenny Hunter Ararat Vic 3377

  2. To Craig, Kerry and families I sincerely send my condolence on the passing of Sandy, though not seen much but always a good mate I will always remember in my heart.

  3. To Craig, Kerry and families my thoughts are with you today. I first met Sandy and Jan when my son’s joined Cadets at HMAS Albatross, he was such a great influcence for anyone lucky enough to have met him. It was honour to be on the Cadet committee for 10yrs and work along side Sandy. He guided a large number of youth within the Shoalhaven on the right path in life. I will always have fond memories of Sandy.

  4. To Craig, Kerry and families I sincerely send our condolence on the passing of Sandy, a good ex shipmate great memories from our time onboard HMAS Hobart – DDG 39 The Green Ghost – Gordon Lowe ex CPORP.

  5. My heartfelt condolences to Craig, Kerry and their families on the passing of The Buffer, as I knew Sandy on HMAS HOBART in the early 70’s, Sandy was indeed well respected by all who served with him or knew him, a Gunnery Legend indeed in all aspects of the meaning of the word, in the last 12 months we kept in contact and I always looked forward to his calls which were on a weekly basis, we had great discussions, he was a man of wisdom and knowledge and I admired and respected Sandy very much indeed, I used to observe him when we served on HMAS HOBART and often I would think to myself that if I ever reached the heights of being a Buffer on a Warship I would indeed emulate the way Sandy did the job, always in a very professional manner….well that time did arrive although much later in the 90’s and on the vey same ship HMAS HOBART, so RIP Buffer, I salute you for your service and much more than that as being a great mentor and ma

  6. Sincere condolences to the family for the passing of Sandy. It was an honer to be one of his Cadets at HMAS Albatross, a hard man but a fair man, we learnt so much from him that I’ve taken and shared throughout my life.
I salute you one more time Lieutenant Powell.
