We honour the life of my dear Uncle Charlie, a man whose life was a journey in every sense of the word. He began his story in the heart of Sheffield, growing up in the streets of Hackenthorpe. He carried the grit, warmth & the character of his northern roots with him. He took a leap of faith that most can only imagine, leaving England behind to build a new life on the other side of the world. He navigated that massive transition and successfully built a new life under the Australian sun & never truly left his roots behind. We hold such precious memories of his visit back to the U.K,especially when he came to see us in Cornwall with Sherry. It was a special joy to have him with us. He brought the warmth of Australian life to our rugged Cornish Coast. He taught us that distance is never enough to break the bonds of family. He remained a Sheffield lad at heart while becoming a true Australian by trade. We will all miss his stories, his laughter, and the way he linked our lives across the miles. While he is no longer with us,the journey he took remains a testament to his adventurous spirit. Sleep well Captain, you’ve finally made it home ❤️ Love always,
Sandra & Philip (Charlie’s sister & brother in-law)
Fiona, John (neice & partner)
Casey, Ethan & Caleb (Fiona’s children)
Monroe (Fiona’s grandson)

Goodbye Uncle Charlie! Growing up you were that beam of joyful light that was always anticipated during your visits with Sherry! You brought the Australian sun to Cornwall during your visits. Your tales and sense of humor will forever be remembered and missed! Rest well! XXXX

Goodbye Uncle Charlie.
The last time I saw you I was too unwell to spend much time with you, being ten and with the flu. However, having spent that little time I did have with you that day, changed something in me. You made me smile and feel better with your presence and humour, something I try to do for many. I have forever cherished that memory, and I always will. Not only that, you were the soul inspiration to move away and start anew. I have followed those footsteps and moved to a different country to start a new life for myself. I couldn’t thank you enough for that. I always held out a lot hope to someday fly overseas and visit you down-under, and show you how good of an Australian accent I can do as I once promised you I could.
You were a warm and funny man that was an inspiration to many. Someone who never forgot their roots and pushed through hardships. I hope someday I can live up to that.
Thank you, Uncle Charlie, Captain. I’ll miss you, and I won’t forget you. ❤️💙
Uncle Charlie
Being about 11 when we met, I never forgot the warmth and the smile that you brought, that joy is something I’ve always aspired to have and I will never forget that.
Wherever you are I know that warmth and joy is being spread much further than any of us can even imagine
Rest in peace Uncle Charlie
I love you so much
