You have been in my life for over 78 years, the longest of any other people. My first memory is when I was flower girl for Kath and George and you organised pearls for me to wear, through my teenage years with your frequent advice, especially “don’t talk to catholics”, the making of my wedding gown and culminating in an interesting hour and a half visit to the nursing home, where you knew who I was immediately but by the end stated that it was strange that I looked so like Mary, but was not related. God speed. I ‘ll really miss you.
