Tributes

  1. Our dear Aunty Anne will be sorely missed. She was our adopted auntie for over 60 years. We will miss her charming wit and sense of humour, her preferred tipple of Baileys Irish Whiskey, her ability to always see the bright side of life reminding us that beauty is everywhere, every personal connection has meaning and that laughter is life’s wonderful creation.
We are left with fond memories of Aunty Anne and also our belated Uncle Les.

  2. Hi Nan now you are in heaven with Leslie and Gillian and your mam and dad and the rest of your family sisters and brothers 💕 when you see them tell them I said hello and make sure they’re room for me lots of love 💚💚💚💚 Gillian

  3. In 1960 my parents Andrej and Marta Oblescak, who had me(Mary) and were pregnant with my sister Belinda , met Anne and Les and their daughter Gillian at the immigrant hostel at Berkley in the NSW Illawarra.
As new migrant families with no connections in this new land, the Garland and Oblescak’s forged a friendship which has transcended 65 years.
We new immigrant families, in a new land, and in the absence of family in this new country, bonded and adopted each other as “family”.
My sister and I have grieved the loss of dear Gillian, who we grew up with as something of an older ‘sister” , and loosing our dear “Uncle Les”, the most gracious of gentlemen.
Now, with deep sorrow, we also mourn the passing of our beloved ‘Aunty ‘ Anne.
She will always be remembered with our love as family and with the greatest of fondness ..

  4. Dear Aunty Anne,

Aiden says he will miss afternoon tea and your wonderful stories and I thank you for the great services to our family through caring for my mum and aunt when they needed it most!

    We will miss your cheekiness.

    Letica & Aiden.

  5. Deepest sympathy on sad passing of Nan from Stewart family in Ireland and many friends thankyou to staff of shellharbour nursing home who took such great care of Nan and her many friends Susan Doogan

  6. My Sincere Condolences to Robert & Susan.. Jemmy, Brendan & Eileen on Nan’s passing.. I remember when Nan would come home to Dromiskin I would call to Ita and uncle Artie’s house to see her.. the laughter & craic would be mighty.. thank’s for the memories Nan rest in peace..!
