Passed away suddenly on Saturday 30th September 2023. Beloved son of the late John and May Baker. “Much loved Big Cousin Al”. Allan will be sadly missed by his loving family and many dear friends here and overseas.

Pete’s memories of Al
I remember when we first arrived in Australia in 1970, all of my cousins were adults, but Al was different, he was into Ernie from Sesame St singing “Rubber Ducky” and Peanuts cartoons and drawing his own cartoons. He was a lot of fun. One memory I have of him is that we had talked about the various theories around JFKs assassination. He showed me an article in a magazine all about it. Which would have been fine, but the magazine was Playboy. So I read it, being very careful not to turn too many pages and being prepared to tell Mum that I was only looking at it for the articles 😊
I remember bumping into Al at Bald Hill a few years back, he had the same big smile and it was like I’d only seen him yesterday. Al was always “young at heart”, it’s hard to think of him being 70. I wish I had caught up with Al more often in recent years, other things got in the way, I was always “gunna” but it never quite happened. Never leave it too late!
