It is with great sadness, yet also great joy, that we let you know that our husband, Dad and Pop went to be with Jesus on Wednesday 6 November. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family.
Beloved husband of Lyn for over 59 years. A wonderful dad to Lisa and David, Paul & Gail, and Kylie & Tom. He loved his grandkids – Eden, Eliza, Ben, Sam, Cooper, Daniel, Zac, Eli and Micah.
Aged 82 years.
We were blessed to have such a great man to lead our family.
We will miss him, as will his many family members and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday 13/11/24 at the Albion Park Uniting Church (Russell Street, Albion Park) at 2:00pm. We’d love to welcome you there.

I am proud to have called Ern a friend and he was in every possible way RIP Old Mate 🙏🌹🌹❤️
Sending my condolences to the Lyn Brown and families .Ernie spun me around at my debutante ball and many times at Marshall mount . A lovely man gone but not forgotten.💔🙏 another Legend from Marshall mount gone too soon..
My arms go around Lynn and all the family. Ernie was so very kind and caring to my late husband John when they shared their ward in Wollongong hospital last year. It meant so much to myself, Sam and Todd during our very sad time. Dianne xx r rest in peace dear Ernie.
I met Lyn & Ern some 30 years + now when their son Paul escorted my daughter to her debut, since then we have been firm friends. Lyn & Ern have welcomed us into their home many times as we have done for them. I shall miss Ern so very much, not a more generous, kinder, genuine man, would you ever meet. Jesus has taken him to his home & peace is now his.
Thank you for many precious memories, Ern, you will never be forgotten.
Deepest love & condolences to Lyn & all the family. Marjorie, Bill & Allyson. (Melbourne)

ERN WAS ONE OF THE BEST FRIENDS I HAVE EVER HAD. I RUN THE COMPUTER AT ALBION PARK UNITING CHURCH AND WHILE HIS WIFE LYN PLAYED THE KEYBOARD OUT FRONT, ERN WITH SIT UP THE BACK NEXT TO THE COMPUTER I USED TO PUT UP WORDS ON THE SCREEN OUT FRONT AND HE WAS AN ALL ROUND NICE GUY. I WILL MISS HIM. ON THE DAYS HE WAS TOO ILL TO COME TO CHURCH HE WOULD WATCH THE SERVICE ON TV AS I LIVE STREAMED IT TO YOU TUBE AND AT THE END OF THE SERVICE I ALWAYS RECEIVED A TEXT MESSAGE “JOB WELL DONE ROSEMARY, LOVE ERN” HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND AND SUPPORTER OF WHAT I DID AT CHURCH. I WILL MISS HIM.
LYN, MY LOVE GOES OUT TO YOU AND ALL IN THE FAMILY. HE WILL BR GREATLY MISSED. LOVE TO YOU LYN AND THE FAMILY.
I’m sorry for your loss, Lynette and all the family. Ernest had a beautiful, sunny disposition, and he was always very warm and welcoming when we came to see you in Albion Park. I also remember that he had a beautiful singing voice. He will be greatly missed, but warmly remembered by our family.
With love,
Francesca, Eldo, Hazel and Dante xox
I fondly remember very early mornings milking the cows with Ernest when I was seven or eight. I remember him driving me around the farm on the back of a motorbike. And I remember the morning that he showed me the feed troughs full of Monster Munch chips – a batch of seconds or stale ones I guess. I couldn’t wait to get back to the house and wake mum up to tell her about it.
He was always a kind and generous man to me, and I will remember him fondly.
Much love and blessings to Lyn and all the family.
